I came into REACH not knowing what to expect as I didn’t have any volunteering or interning experience here. However, I decided to join the Senior Service because of my passion to work with seniors. I have experienced the warmth of colleagues, the willingness of my team members to spend time guiding me, a new worker in the field, and the caring hearts of our volunteers and seniors at the senior activity centre. The most rewarding part about working in REACH is that I have the opportunity to make even the smallest of differences in the lives of seniors in this community. My role allows me to do what I enjoy- helping the vulnerable who may otherwise lose out on much-needed assistance. I am heartened to see my clients lives gradually improve, and I anticipate my own development as a social worker.
I felt I had made a good choice in joining REACH.
