Content Creation Volunteer

We are looking for Skills-based volunteer to assist with REACH Communications & Marketing Team to design and create communication/publicity material for REACH campaigns.

Key responsibility:

Design communication and publicity material not limited to social media (including reels), brochures, poster, banners to promote REACH initiatives.

Maintain consistency in visual elements across all designs, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
Project-based/ad-hoc basis

Commitment:

Minimum 3 months

Requirements:

Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, Photoshop, Illustrator
Creativity, attention to details, adaptable and organised

Event Photographer

Looking to build our base of volunteer photographers for REACH Events & Celebrations.

Pre-requisites: Experience in Photography (Events, People), Able to capture action-shots, subjects in motion. Experience in Editing Photos (E.g. Adobe Photoshop)

Medical Escort Companion

Looking for Ad-Hoc Medical Escort to chaperone seniors from their homes to hospitals for their medical appointments.

Bi-lingual with Mandarin or Dialects, possess great interpersonal skills and love interacting with seniors. Ad-hoc commitment.

Facilitator (Social Dance)

Looking for facilitator to teach/lead a Social Dance Group.

Pre-requisites: Spoken language – Mandarin and/or English and patience with seniors, knowledge & previous experience in teaching Social Dance and able to engage and encourage the elderly to improve.

Remarks: Elderly have prior experience in Social Dance.Sessions will be in the afternoons either on Tuesdays / Wednesdays or Fridays.

Arts & Crafts Facilitator

Looking for facilitator to engage Seniors in Arts and Crafts programme.

Pre-requisites: Spoken language – Mandarin and/or English and patience with seniors.

Remarks: Passionate about what is being taught. Can be just for one specific craft, ability to plan curriculum for 6 months to a year will be greatly preferred.
Sessions will be on Friday afternoons.

HEAR FROM OUR VOLUNTEERS!

I joined Community Dabao in 2019 as a volunteer cook to help prepare meals for other seniors. This was a very memorable and joyful experience as I made many new friends and learnt new recipes from others at the REACH Senior Centre. The place already feels like a second home! I also participated and contributed to numerous other activities, including floral arrangements, crotchet classes, and delivering goodie bags to low-income families during Chinese New Year. I even brought my husband to join me in volunteering.

Volunteering is truly a joy because connecting with others brings great meaning to me. My experiences here have brightened my life. I spend most of my time here and I am happy.

I took part in a one-year youth mentoring programme, in hopes to interact with the youths and provide them with a safe space to express their thoughts and what they are going through in life. It has been a fulfilling volunteering experience for me. I had the opportunity to journey with my mentees and understand what they are going through. I also shared my personal journey when I was growing up as a teenager, which allowed them to be more comfortable and open, and realized that they aren't alone in this journey. Apart from building relationships with the youths, I also had made some new friends with fellow mentors and youth workers in REACH Youth Service.

As a volunteer photographer, I managed to involve myself in the community while doing something I loved. I helped on the third day of Chinese New Year, when REACH went around Bukit Batok to distribute festive gift packs. It was heartening to see people from all walks of life come together to help spread the festive cheer and bring supplies and smiles to the underprivileged. The experience was eye-opening as I got the chance to see how the event unfolded from start to finish and follow volunteers around the rental flats. It is true that to give is also to receive. I was initially apprehensive about volunteering, but it was a very fulfilling experience. I felt proud to be part of something bigger than myself and had a lot of fun meeting new people.
